Super easy smoothie that will give you a boost in the morning or at any time of the day as a healthy snack. You are now loaded up with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients to help you fight off daily inflammation. This recipe will keep you full and happy. It also pairs nicely with a side of eggs.
I try to use organic ingredients for this recipe, but it is not required. Costco carries all these ingredients: 5 lb bag organic frozen mango for $8.99 (excellent deal), 1 pound of organic baby spinach $4.99, 3 lb tub of organic Greek yogurt $5.59, organic banana 3 lb $1.99 (I slice and freeze these in advance). If you don't have a Costco membership, Aldi carries these ingredients for reasonable prices as well.
Ingredients
- 1 cup baby spinach
- ¾ cup frozen mango
- 6 slices of frozen banana
- ½ cup plain fat-free greek yogurt
- ½ to 1 cup of water depending on the consistency you like (less water means the smoothie will be more slushy)
Optional - For weight gain use unsweetened soy milk instead of water and/or full-fat Greek yogurt for more calories and protein.
Instructions
Add all ingredients to blender, Vitamix or Nutribullet and blend for 30-45 seconds until all ingredients have been blended into a homogenous mixture like the picture above.
